How would you market tampons?

Look I don’t pretend to know about feminine hygiene products. I didn’t even know how to spell ‘hygiene’ (hat tip to autocorrect) before writing this.

In fact, one of my goals in life is to completely avoid the topic altogether.

But this morning I’m making an exception. Always (popular player in the industry) picked up 9 million views in the last 4 days on a their latest Youtube video and you need understand why.

The video doesn’t picture woman dressed up in lily white clothes doing yoga, playing tennis or running through field of barley. Instead it’s raw and real.

It focuses on a problem that every woman (and man) faces.

Self-esteem.

It’s just brilliant.

I want to go buy tampons now.

You?

Moral of the story is this: Quit making your product out to be an instant fix to all of lifes problems. It’s not.

Instead concentrate on the humanity of it.

Be real. Be raw. Be honest.
