I had some down time this afternoon before going out to eat with some friends and was studying the sales page.

I’m about to launch a new product and I’m fascinated with seeing how others are pricing and positioning their offerings.

This pricing table is brilliant.

What do you see?

I see Urgency, Class and Ruth Chris.

1. Urgency: There is a price cut. I can get the Professional plan for the price of the Semi-Pro package. Crap, thats a good deal.

2. Class: You can easily do ‘urgency’ in a sleazy used car salesman kind of way. Like this. That isn’t Michael’s style though. Everything about the page builds trust.

3. Ruth’s Chris: Anyone can build a $50 WordPress theme. The problem with that? So can 5,000 other people. Would you rather race to the top or the bottom? Ruth’s Chris or McDonalds?
