The only number that I track

Nine months ago I was hired to make a series of videos about Google Analytics.

The videos were intended to help beginners learn how to use Google Analytics to track and grow their business.

One problem though: I didn’t know the first thing about Google Analytics.

Keeping up with website traffic, conversions, referrals and the countless other things that people say to track just seemed overwhelming.

But I learned to cope with it. I developed an intricate system of spreadsheets, Google Calendar reminders and a V.A. to help me keep tabs on everything.

Then somehow I jacked up a formula in one of my spreadsheets and after 5 hours of trying to fix it I was ready to explode.

So, I did what any rational adult would do, I deleted everything.

I simplified.

Now I track ONE metric in my business.

It’s not traffic and it’s not bounce rate.

Those things are fun numbers to obsess over, but I don’t care about them that much anymore.

Now I track just one number, my site-wide optin rate.

In today’s video I’m going to show you:

  • What a ‘site-wide optin rate’ is
  • Why you need to track it
  • How it can help you grow your business
