When I first started building my email list, I was an accountant working from 8 AM to 8 PM without overtime pay.
It’s common in the industry to work a lot as it’s hard to differentiate between accountants, and working in a big firm means there will be almost an unlimited amount of work.
I was curious about fitness and that’s when I decided to start building my email list.
Fast-forward seven months and I’d built a list of 1,250 subscribers.
I’ve made my first stab at launching products and am excited to keep trying!
How did you do it?
I built my email list to 1,250 subscribers by focusing on one specific strategy: giveaways.
For my first giveaway I leveraged the “reach out to everyone you know” strategy. Instead of just asking them to join my list, I decided to enter them in a giveaway. This created value and gave them something to look forward to.
After doing my first giveaway, I started trying other strategies but had little success, so I decided to try giveaways again.
This is the giveaway tweet I have pinned to my Twitter profile:
Since that specific giveaway has already ended, this is the page my visitors are taken to where they can opt-in for future giveaways and updates from me:
Every time I run a giveaway my list grows by 400 to 500 subscribers.
I tried doing a product launch but didn’t have solid results. Now I’m focused on continuing to grow my email list and trying again.
What has building an email list changed in your life and allowed you to do?
I love having an email list because I’m able to communicate with my target audience and help them with simple ways to use yoga in their lives.
What’s next for you?
Moving forward means focusing on two things:
Me + Girlfriend

Videofruit taught me one technique to build my list from 0 to over 1000. I've never understood the power of FREE and sharing until I joined their course. I always knew it has a significant influence but didn't know it worked so well!
