When I first started building my email list, I was a pizza delivery boy.
I started experimenting more with digital marketing by learning about blogging and affiliate marketing, and after one year of trial and error running Facebook ads, I made $30,000 in one month!
That’s when I decided to build a list around the topic of Facebook ads. I chose that because I feel Facebook ads are the fastest way to grow a business.
Fast-forward one month and I’d built a list of 2,364 subscribers.
I recently launched my Facebook ads course and did $104,418 in September 2016.
How did you do it?
I got my first 100 subscribers by doing one thing. I created a cheat sheet of 7 steps I used to run successful Facebook ads and put it on my homepage.
Now when people land on my website, they immediately see my free cheat sheet and are more likely to subscribe to get it.
My cheat sheet has earned me 1,062 opt-ins as of October 2016.
Currently my list is at 2,364 subscribers.
I went from 1,062 to 2,364 subscribers by doing two things: 1) webinars, and 2) media appearances.
Webinars are fantastic because you have the potential to connect with a lot of people at once.
Combine webinars with Facebook ads and you have incredible potential.
Here’s a picture showing total opt-ins and revenue from recent webinars I’ve been running.
I figured out early on that I had a story that was relatable and easy to share, and I knew that local news and radio stations would love to hear about it.
I started reaching out to media outlets and have been featured all over my local area. I’ve even had some national coverage.
This drives immeasurable traffic and has significantly boosted my opt-ins.
In September 2016 I took my first stab at launching an online course called “Facebook Ads for Entrepreneurs” and earned $104,418!
I’ll soon be relaunching the course and couldn’t be more ready to help another group of students achieve their results through Facebook ads.
What has building an email list changed in your life and allowed you to do?
It’s helped me create a business from my laptop, and always be able to say YES when my wife wants to go somewhere or do something.
What’s next for you?
Moving forward means focusing on three things:
Me + Wife
I always wanted to start an online course, but I really didn't know where to begin. I knew I had results and I have the experience to deliver, I just was foggy on how to put it all together. When I read Videofruit's post on how they made over $200,000 with their course, I reread it over and over and over. I used a ton of tips from that article and it helped me get going and figure out what people really wanted.
