When I first started building my email list, I was depressed and had been on welfare for 8 years. I needed a big change in my life and decided to become totally committed to turning it around.
I kept trying to build a list but struggled time and again. After many failed attempts, I finally got the hang of it.
I decided to start building an email list to share what I’ve learned so that aspiring online business owners wouldn’t have to experience the many failures I did.
Fast-forward 2 and half years and I’d built an email list of 4,110 subscribers.
In the last 12 months my email list has generated a total of $732,042 between courses and coaching.
How did you do it?
I got my first 100 subscribers by doing one thing. I built an early-bird interest list for a product I was creating by announcing it on Warrior Forum. Warrior Forum is an online community for people creating businesses.
An early-bird interest list is a list of people who are interested in buying your product once the cart is open.
I helped members of Warrior Forums by sharing what I was learning while starting my business, so that members could avoid my mistakes and leverage my successes. Members became interested in my processes and mindset and joined my list.
My first early bird list had 129 subscribers.
When I launched my product I had an EPC (earnings per click) of $4.82; the average is usually $1.32.
The product I sold was $4.95, which is hard to make a living off of, so I created an experience that went like this:
Step 1: You decide you want my product at $4.95.
Step 2: You see a “one-time offer” (OTO) for a $17 product.
Step 3: You see a second OTO for a $197 product.
Here’s a mind map of what that flow looks like:
In my first 12 months, the above process earned me $182,484. You can find more about the flow above in my case-study here.
Currently my list is at 4,110 subscribers.
I went from 100 to 4,110 subscribers by continuing to build early-bird lists for products I was creating.
I also recently started running email campaigns to my list, selling ready-to-use solutions.
What has building an email list changed in your life and allowed you to do?
I was able to completely transform my life and business for the better. When you remember that I was on welfare for 8 years, you can see the progress so far. 🙂
